Why I'm Running
Every morning, I wake up, watch the news, and think: What can I do?
I think about the country my children will inherit—the country all our children will inherit—if we don't turn this around. And I can't just stand by.
Right here in Alexandria, families are being priced out of the community they built. Parents are choosing between rent and groceries. Teachers can't afford to live in the neighborhoods where they teach. And our immigrant families—neighbors who are the backbone of our community—are scared. They're scared to send their kids to school. Scared to go to work. Scared of what comes next.
I've spent my career fighting for working families when they needed someone in their corner. In the Clinton Administration, I helped small businesses take on global competitors and win. At major government contractors, I worked to modernize access to healthcare and ensure Veterans receive the benefits they've earned. I've worked to empower immigrant families to advocate for their children's education. On the School Board, I didn't just talk about closing the achievement gap—I built coalitions that delivered results, earning recognition as Education Advocate of the Year from Tenants and Workers United.
Our teachers need raises, not empty promises. Our families need affordable housing, not another study. Our federal workers—the backbone of this region's economy—need a Delegate who will defend them when they're under attack. Our immigrant neighbors need someone who will stand with them, not stand by while they live in fear.
Alexandria needs strong representation in Richmond now more than ever. An opportunity to serve and do more is right in front of me. As your next Delegate, I'll build on Elizabeth Bennett-Parker's legacy, moving our district forward with compassion, courage, and results. I'll fight for our shared values and stand up to the Trump Administration’s attacks on our rights and freedoms.
The 5th District doesn't need another politician who talks about working families. We need someone who's actually delivered for them.
I'm going for it. I hope to earn your support.
Let's get to work.
